The Process
From Library Self Study
Cowles Library Future Development Group charge:
Members: Diane Collett, Bruce Gilbert, Rod Henshaw, Teri Koch (Chair)
Drake University is engaged in a comprehensive self-study process, leading to a formal review of the institution by the Higher Learning Commission, the accrediting arm of the North Central Association of Schools and Colleges. Over the last several years, the faculty and staff of Cowles Library have been placing increasing attention to the ongoing assessment of library services, collections, and activities. Building on that solid base, the Cowles Library Future Development Group (formerly: Self-Study Committee) will work to insure that a comprehensive record of evidence regarding the library will be available to the university and to the commission. As part of this effort this group will also undertake a revision of the Cowles Library Strategic Plan. A key part of the strategic planning effort will be the development of a long-range vision for the evolution of library services at Drake. The entire plan must fulfill the appropriate goals contained in the university strategic plan.
